Dating Is…..

Can you believe that there were no huge social gaffes or blunders made on my part? Kind of makes for a boring post. I met CG at Rojo. It’s a restaurant that is literally two blocks from my apartment. Love that place, close, convenient AND good food and GREAT margaritas. What’s not to like? And I’m sure you’re thinking, "Who gives a damn about the restaurant, what about the ACTUAL DATE?" And to you I say, "DON’T RUSH ME, DAMNIT."

So, about the date. It was fun. We had a really good time. Well, I did anyway. We ate food, had drinks, made conversation, lots of laughing and smart ass comments. I don’t know if you know this about me, but I can sometimes be a cough*little*cough bit of a smart ass. Sometimes. And I LOVE it when I’m being a smart ass and whomever I’m with comes right back at me with a smart ass zinger kind of comment. LOVE. IT. SO. MUCH. FUN!

Anyway, dinner went great. I wore a white tank top, ordered a quesadilla that came with a side of salsa and I didn’t spill ANYTHING on my top. SCORE! (I’m also kind of a clutz. Cosmic joke and all ~ being named Grace. THANKS DAD.) So, after we were done eating, we weren’t really ready to part ways, so we decided to go watch a movie at his place. He suggested Open Water and I told him, "No thanks. I already have a healthy fear of sharks. I don’t need to watch them eat people in a movie." So he was cool with watching something else. We ended up watching True Romance. Pretty good movie. Very all star cast. He cracked me up through the movie because I had never seen it before and it’s his favorite movie so there was a lot of, "Oh, you have to watch this part, pay attention! It’s really great. It’s one of the best parts of the movie. Sshhh!"

Which, while it cracked me up that he was like a kid in the candy store about me watching his favorite movie for the first time, also kind of made me want to smother him with the pillow. But in a good way, really. REALLY.

So, all in all, it was a really good first date. I hate to use the term date, though. I’m not sure why. I guess it just sounds so high school, but what else am I gonna call it? I don’t know.

However, tonight will be a nice change of pace as it is knitting night! Woo hoo! I’ll be taking the ginormous sleeve with me. I’m hoping I might even finish it and start on ginormous sleeve 2. We shall see!
