Breaking the Winter Cycle

I think I might be part bear because all I want to do in the winter is eat to bulk up and sleep as much as possible. This, of course, is not conducive to “real life” but it does cause me to become quite the hermit. As much as life allows. But with spring encroaching on winter, I am slowly venturing out into the outside world. I am certain that spring is coming for two reasons:

  1. Today I made it a point to get out of my pajamas.
  2. I left the house.

All I did was run a few errands, but hey! I got out of the house and enjoyed myself. I was a little miffed with the weather since it was supposed to be partly cloudy but for the most part is was just fully cloudy. I didn’t actually see blue sky until later in the afternoon when I was on my way home. Typical. But I got out and it was good. And that’s the point.

Of course, now they’re predicting the possibility of snow tomorrow, but they were wrong about the weather today so I’m going to be as optimistic as possible.

I’ve spent the rest of the day knitting a Citron shawl out of my Zauberball. It’s coming along quite swimmingly and if I don’t make any giant stupid mistakes, I think I might finish it tomorrow. But right now I am loving this pattern and this yarn and I think the combination is quite phenomenal. The pattern is easy, but with just enough pattern changes to not be boring and this yarn is super soft and lovely to knit.

And after knitting nothing but lace lately, this is a gratifyingly quick project, too. I am completely enchanted.
