Being Sick Sucks

So, what did I do this past Labor Day weekend? It was all going great until Sunday night. I came down with what the doctor says is an upper respiratory infection. I spent 2 hours this morning at the doctor’s office before they finally came to that conclusion. Well, at least it’s not mono. My brother-in-law has been sick. I think the chain of germs goes something like this: brother-in-law –> niece –> sister-in-law –> me. Oh, and my friend Lori got it too.

At least I had a good time Saturday and Sunday until I got sick. Saturday was hanging at the pool all day with
friends and family, including my neice and sister-in-law who had the upper respiratory infection. Possibly not the best thing for me. I see that now. Still, they were visiting from out of town and I don’t get to see them often. So, I’ll live and it was worth it. Saturday night we went out to eat at Surin, the best Thai restaurant in town & one of David & my favorite places to eat, and then a movie that night. Actually, David went home and went to bed. I went with a friend and saw Van Helsing. I really liked it. I think I need to own it.

Sunday, we went over to the neighbors and celebrated their oldest son’s graduation from high school. They are always fun to hang out with. Yesterday, unfortunately, was moping around the house being sick and feeling sorry for myself. I’ll admit it. I was having a little bit of a pitty party.

I have, though, done some knitting. When I’m not sleeping, I’ve been working on the halter top of my bikini suit. I’m making very slow progress. I feel like it’s been 2 steps forward and 5 steps back, but I think that’s partly because I don’t feel good and partly because I probably don’t need to be knitting since I don’t feel good, but it does make me happy for a small amounts of time.

Anyway, I was having trouble sleeping (might have something to do with the 3 hour nap this afternoon), so I thought I would post. But I’m starting to get sleepy, so it’s off to bed for me!
