So last Thursday after I got back from Savannah, I headed over to see my chiropractor. My test results were in! It’s a girl! Just kidding. Everything checked out normal.
That’s right. NORMAL. I suffered brutal ELECTROCUTION to find out that everything is fine. Well, that’s great, but why the fuck did I have nerve pain and swelling? Well, my chiropractor did some more digging for me and found out that my symptoms were a possible reaction to the asthma medication I was taking.
Yes, past tense. I quit using it after my visit with the chiropractor. And before you get all, “But the asthma! You’ll die!” Let me explain a little something to you. Dr. Moron prescribed it to me after I told him I had been diagnosed with EXERCISE INDUCED asthma. Which means that I have asthma attacks when I participate in aerobic activities. And sometimes when it’s really cold. Otherwise? I’m fine. So why he thought I needed to be on a daily regulator for my asthma is beyond me.
I asked him as much when he prescribed it and he gave me some glib answer that escapes me now. I do know that at THAT time, he didn’t mention my hormones, which is probably why I decided to give it a go. In truth, in the last 3 months that I used it, I didn’t notice any great improvement in my breathing. And when I tried to run? Hello asthma attack!
When I went to see the new doc about my hands, I also talked to her about the asthma attacks that were still happening when I would try to run. She prescribed me a rescue inhaler. I was told to use that in addition to the daily treatment. You know what? I’m not into taking medicine on top of medicine on top of medicine. So, after talking to my chiropractor and agreeing to see my primary care doc, I quit using the daily asthma treatment.
Since then? The nerve pain and the swelling have gone away. Completely. My asthma? The same as when I was using the daily treatment.
My quality of life? 1000% better.

Good grief. Why can’t they just make a drug that does what it’s supposed to do *without* making other things go to hell?
VERY SCARY!!!! I’m just so glad that it wasn’t carpal tunnel!!!!
Thank dog the pain is gone! Annnnnd, you don’t got no man hands!
SAFF? Yes? Right? Please?
