Did you notice that some bitch left an ugly post on my blog yesterday? Sheesh. I’m going to have to work on security around here.

Anyway, Aslan is on the move [which is code for things have been happening on the knitting front in my home].

I decided, after some good counsel, to not frog what I had already started with the skull and crossbones and finished it out. I blocked it last night. It’s going to be an oversized postcard.

The finished measurements of the knitting is 6" wide by 8" tall. This is not bad considering I was going for 4" x 6". Also, my stitches are a little tight around the skull, but I don’t care. I think that, overall, it looks pretty damn good. Also? I love my blocking board.

There has been some discussion that I might need something thicker than cardstock despite using the mod podge to adhere it to the knitting. I’m considering getting some mat board to use instead. Or use it inbetween the knitting and the cardstock. I haven’t decided for sure yet, but I’ll be perusing some kind of arts & crafts store tonight to get mat board and/or cardstock to complete this little oversized postcard.

Also, does anyone know if gel mat medium works on fiber? Specifically, will it work as an adhesive with a cotton/tencel blend yarn?

  • Yep. Definitely cute.

I love your blocking board, too. Where did you get it, if I may ask?
