A Crap Way to Avoid Work

Get worked in a week ahead?of when you’re supposed to visit your doctor?because you have missed your period, are having pregnancy symptoms,?are NOT PREGNANT (FOUR pee sticks confirmed this at?home, a 5th pee stick reconfirmed this at the doctor’s office)(And no, it was NOT my idea to take that many?tests, but sometimes you have to make your lover happy, you know?), major bloating (fun!), and?then throw in a dash of?pain?in your side that may or may not be an ovarian cyst or your appendix about to rupture.* Take your pick. Then? SIT IN THE WAITING ROOM OF YOUR DOCTOR’S OFFICE?FOR TWO HOURS.

Thank the gods I have a portable hobby. I managed to finish the last repeat of the leg and start on the heel of Monkey sock number two of two. I’m almost done with the heel flap now. See?

Monkey Sock

Now go eat some ice cream. You know you want to.

Oh, and before I forget, who names their kid Latrina? While I was sitting in the watiting room, someone named Latrina was overhead paged. I think a name like that is rather cruel and unusual. But kind of funny. So I just giggled to myself and kept knitting.

And no, I don’t know why I’m in pain or my body thinks I’m pregnant. Everything is normal as far as the girlie doctor can tell, but she ordered some blood work to cover all the bases.?So now I’m just waiting to hear as to whether or not my lab results are normal.?Or not. ?

But on the bright side? I really like my doctor so the wait was worth it.

*This really only works for girls unless you only have the possible appendicitis part.

  • “that’s an unusual name, Latrine”

“we changed it in the 14th century”

“you CHANGED YOUR NAME to Latrine???”

“yeah. It used to be Shithouse.”

roughly quoted. Anyway…congrats on not being preggers! maybe your period just needed the week off?

LMAO – once again, Evil Science Chick is crackin’ my shit up!!!

  • Well….at least it wasn’t a total waste and you did get some good knitting time in but I can think of a lot of easier ways to get in some knitting time!! LOL!!

  • Naomi

    Ectopic pregnancy?

  • Latrina!!! So funny!!!!! About 10 years ago there was a fast food restaurant down the street from where I worked that employed a girl named Girl. Pronounced “Ger-ell”.

Also? Your blog header scares me. lol You’ve got a GREAT evil eye though! I bet kids TOTALLY listen to you!!!

  • Hope everything turns out okay. Girlie problems suck.

  • If you want to hear some weird names, watch Hell Date. Oh lawdy.

    Hope you’re better soon!

  • Mmmm, Neapolitan ice cream.

I’m sorry to hear about your hurty parts. Did you get some drugs at least?

  • Lab results will be in when??? What will come first – the lab results or the completed socks… i’m betting the socks :)
I like what kerri calls “the evil eye”, although, I dont’ think it looks evil – I think it looks mysterious!

  • Oh boy! …not pregnant! And a surprise visit to the girl-parts doc. I do love the girl-parts doc.

  • Keeping my fingers crossed that bad feeling goes away soon. I think any time spent knitting is time well spent……always keeps me from jumping out of my skin in those waiting room situations.

I like the evil-eye or is that the crooked eye?

  • Love the new banner – I want a hat striped just like your eyeballs :) Great colors!

Here’s hoping all systems are normal.

My best ever doc was also a lady parts doc. A very compassionate woman. Then the whole practice changed over to not accepting insurance, only having retained clients for a fixed (high) fee. I have yet to find a new doctor.

Latrina? That stinks. Maybe they should have named that kid Ammonia, or Areola. Those are *much* prettier names.

  • Latrina………maybe the father was in the military wayyyyyyyy too long!!!

Love the neopolitan monkey sock! See, knitting keeps up sane…..keeps us from road rage when stopped in traffic, keeps one from going ballistic when we have to wait 2 hours to see the doc, etc.

When will you have test results???
