Today I discovered that the Kindle for Android app was available, so of course I downloaded it. And then to test it out, I bought Shit My Dad Says and proceeded to ignore B for 2 hours.
When I finally got done reading, Charlie (Who, by the way, has suddenly developed a love of random barking. Which, incidentally, is not as cute as random dancing.) needed to go out (again. For the millionth time.) so I took him to do his business. When we came back inside, he was doing his doggy prance which roughly translates to “Give me a treat for making a pee pee outside!” So we headed to the kitchen with Charlie wiggling his butt the entire way in anticipation of noms.
Me: Charlie, are you hungry?
B: Not at this hour he isn’t!
Me: OK, fine. How about a treat!
B: So he can wake me up in the middle of the night needing to take a shit?! I don’t think so.
Me: All right…
Me: (to Charlie) Sorry, buddy. Your daddy’s an asshole!
B: I’m going to start a blog called Shit My Wife Says.

Sometimes I think we really only truly enjoy a season when we’re not actually experiencing it. It is pretty hot around these parts. And while I grew up in the desert and welcome the heat, what I do not welcome is how hard the a/c strains to work to keep the house cool. And kinda fails. I think this is where we had it right back home. We didn’t have central a/c; we had window units. And man could those things produce. But our a/c? She’s struggling. So right now? The best part of the day is when the sun goes down.

I have a confession to make. It pains me to think this, much less say it out loud, but it’s got to be said.
I think everyone is colorblind except me.
I don’t know how this happened. Maybe everyone but me got a mislabeled box of crayons and don’t know their colors? I’m trying to come to grips with the fact that no one seems to know navy blue when they see it.
However, now that we have identified the problem, hopefully we can find a way to remedy the situation. How did this all come about? Well, it started with some yarn and a pair of socks. The yarn in question is Regia 4 fädig in the lovely colorway named 5391. According to Yarndex: Nation Schwarz-gelb (Black, Gold) However, the manufacturer is also clearly mistaken.

Clearly this is a DARK NAVY BLUE and yellow yarn. Not yellow and grey yarn. CLEARLY. I just don’t understand why no one can see this except me. I’m not sure how we can remedy this situation, but I think it will probably start with the relabeling of crayons.
So, you see, dear internets, I have a big job ahead of me of re-educating almost everyone I know on what is navy blue and what is grey. I hope you aren’t colorblind, too.
Love,
Miss Pants

I’ve bee knitting on this shawl on and off for over a year now. Or maybe 20 years. That’s how it feels now that I’m working on the edging. Turns out the edging is HALF THE SHAWL. Good thing it’s pretty. And shiny. And the edging pattern is easy to memorize. Because otherwise? I would probably go mad(der than I already am) from trying to finish it.

I know that once it’s finished and blocked out it will look less like boiled ass lace and will be beautiful and look more like this.

But there is still so much left to go.

I haven’t even made it to the end of the first repeat yet.
::weep::
I think this shawl’s edging created the knitting black hole. I knit and knit and knit and I always seem to be in the exact same place.
*sigh*
Good thing it’s beautiful. And I like to knit. Though sometimes I can’t help but wonder just how much insanity there is in knitting.
