just a little less than 350 yards
I have just 36 days (or 864 hours) to knit up a touch less than 350 yards of KPPM on US size 5 needles to complete my mom’s Christmas present. And it’ll only be 91 days late, so uh…yeah. Guess I should really really get on that. Because if you factor in blocking time, I probably have more like 31 days to knit and 5 days to vacuum and steam clean one incredibly long section of carpet and then create some kind of barrier to keep the cat off it while it blocks.
And while that seems like plenty of time, you would be wrong. Because this yarn? It is cursed. You can just knit and knit and knit and knit and knit and the yarn cakes NEVER GET SMALLER. And since I can’t actually devote all 864 hours to only knitting, I might be doomed unless I knit on this scarf every free moment I have. And also make sacrifices. Obviously, housework is out.
Though, now that I think about it, keeping the cat off the scarf may very well be a bigger battle than finishing the knitting part. Either way, I need to quit stalling and get going. Nothing like a deadline to motivate some mad, crazy knitting!

Go Grace! Go Grace! *pompoms!* Woooo!
Haha!! Yeah, send me some pompoms too!
Hey Grace!
If you don’t want to ‘steam clean’ the carpet before blocking, I put down a clean flat bedsheet on the carpet and block on top of that. It also absorbs some of the moisture if you are wet blocking. Keep on knittin!
I think everybody I know who has knit this scarf was surprised at how freaking long it took to knit. But on the other hand, the fabric you’re creating is gooooorgeous.
