BAD Boy is quickly learning the joy of turning in games for cash or store credit. (Primarily at GameStop.) He will periodically trade in games to be able to buy new games. But he has now moved on to trading in gaming systems for newer game systems. It started with turning in his Nintendo DS Lite for the DSi. He managed to keep the DSi for almost a year, I think. And then the new and improved Nintendo DSi XL came out. We saw it Sunday and GameStop was running a deal for turning in your previous DS system. (Really, the only thing different about the XL is the bigger size and screen. Otherwise, I don’t think they’ve really done too much else to it, but someone had to have it.)
So today we went back to GameStop with more games and BAD Boy’s DSi and he traded them all in for the new DSi XL. He paid for the XL with nothing but store credit, which was pretty damn awesome. And then he bought Mario Party DS with the rest of his store credit AND a gift card and was just $0.74 shy of having to spend any money at all.
I’d say that was a very successful trip.
But the best moment/quote of the night? That would be when we finally got to the car and he was opening up the box to his brand new DSi XL.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don’t need a quick start guide. Never have, never will… That’s what Dad is for.”

That IS what dads are for. My dad was good like that, too. And yes Keri, they make thinks that can buff out scratches from games and dvds. I can’t remember what it’s called, but we have one.

He has many things to teach my husband, who refuses to get rid of any of his old playstations. We have versions 1 -3!

Huh. Guess it’s too old to turn in my Gameboy Advance SP. I never thought about doing that. Tell BAD Boy he taught me something!
