Last night The Boy and I were hanging out in the living room while B was at the Lodge. We’d just finished his homework and he was getting ready to race his cars around when he asked me if I would show him how to spin. Of course, I obliged him, and got some roving and my Louet spindle and proceeded to show him how it was done. I started out letting him hold the roving and I spun the spindle so he could get a feel for pulling the roving.

After a little while, he says to me, “We should teach daddy how to do this. Or at least to knit.”

I told him I didn’t think his dad would be interested. His response to me?

“I bet if he tried it he would like it. I could teach him.”

I love that kid.
