A few weeks ago I had to take a late evening flight and finally did something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. I took pictures of the city lights below. I always love seeing the lights from this angle. I’m pretty sure this is Atlanta at night. The city lights are so bright that you can’t see a single star in the sky. I find this both amazing and sad at the same time.
This is possibly one of the coldest winters I have ever experienced in the South. I won’t say in my life because I did spend part of one Christmas break in New York when I was a little kid. My first real experience with snow was that year. Having never experienced snow, I was surprised to find that when you played in it for awhile, you eventually got wet. Sometimes knowledge is useless without experience. But the point is, I DON’T LIVE IN A PLACE WHERE IT IS SUPPOSED TO SNOW. And while the snow hasn’t been sticking, I don’t think I have ever seen an icicle on my mailbox before. I am not really excited about it, either. I’m ready for summer. I can say this with absolute certainty, though: I am so very glad I am a knitter. At least I have my handknits to keep me warm.
